THE TOUR ENCHANTMENT OF BONDOWOSO

Introduction
In term of promote the tourism in East Java, especially in Bondowoso, and also to introduce the tourist destinations to the visitor. So we consider to publish booklet of tourist object in bondowoso. This booklet is a brief introduction which consist of information about name and address of tourist, also another explanation that very important for visitor who come to Bondowoso.
We realize that this booklet is not quite perfect enough but is really mean to give some information to visitors

IJEN CRATER
Ijen crater is one of the tourist destination which has been well known by the foreign and local tourist. It is located at sempol village- sempol subdistrict. It has the beautiful natural view. The crater is not active anymore. Its temperatature is between 2 to 8 degree celcius and the crater area locates on the hight 2.386 meter above sea level (2.386 mdpl). It iss decorated by the edeleeiss flower and the other plants, like the casuarinas Junghu (samara gunung) etc. and the various animals, like jungle flowl (ayam hutan) and Porcupine (landak) etc. The distance of this place obout 74 km from the town center. There are some of fasilitas here such as: Hotel, camping ground, shelter and touriys information (TIC), small mosque etc.

RAUNG MOUNTAIN
It is included into the Ijen Plateau range. It is located at sumber Wringinm subdistrict. It is completed with very interesting and the various animals too. This tour is very interesting and gives a good defiance for visitor, especially for people who interested in the mountain located on the height 3.332 meter above sea level. The tourst can start climb the mountain from Pos one (Pensanggrahan Sumber Wringin) which provided a number of guides who are ready to give servise for visitor.

BLAWAN WATERFALL
Blawan waterfall (Air Terjun Blawan) is located at Kalianyar village – Sempol subdistrit, approximately 74 Km from the town center Bondowoso. It is the down stream of the Pahit river (hilir kali pahit) and also the drainage of Kawah Ijen (Ijen Crater) that full content of sulpur and there are a kind of plat here namely macadamia.
Besides Blawan Waterfall, is also one of the natural bathing place namely “the hot water spring” that still include into the Blawan Waterfall area. There are some facilites here such as shelter, hotel etc.

THE AGRO TOURISM OF ARABIKA COFFEE PLANTATION KALISAT JAMPIT
The plantation tour is owned and managed by PTP area of Kalissat / Jampit approximately 74 Km east of Bondowoso. The width of this area is about 4000 hectares and located the tourist heritage, such as: packing of coffee at the field and the factory, drying of coffee seeds, and the process of milling coffee seeds that proses s of milling coffee seeds that produces Arabika instant coffee that has special taste and the nice fragrance. Besides enjoying the arabika coffee, the tourist can use several facilities, for example: the flower garden of rose and lily, fishing arena, the fire palce at the Guest House ? Jampit I, arabika homestay ? Jampit II, Swimming pool, meeting room, enterainment, coffee break and equipped by the place for the bicycle and car tour arena. Are protected by the government or the manager of this place. We can visit there by using the public transportation.

PULO AGUNG WATERFALL
It is located at Sukorejo village-Sumber Wringin subdistrictr, about 40 Km of Bondowoso, it is near to the plantation area owned by surrounding societ. It is s new tourist object which is built and developed ini 2003 and managed by the tourism art and culture office (Kanparsenibud) Bondowoso Regency.
The waterfall height is about 30 meter and it is has natural and beautiful scenery. There we see vally green free wide. It is equipped with 3 shelter, that is located around thhhhis place. The visitors can reach by using the public transportation. But if you want to reach the waterfall area we have to walk carefully.

TANCAK KEMBAR WATERFALL
It is located at Andungsari village- Pakem Cubdistrict, approximately 18 Km west of Bondowoso. The waterfall height is sbuot 77 meters. This place is supported by the center of Arabica coffee research. Its width is about 380 hectare, benefit irrigation. Local society trust that the waterfall in left side is taking care of by custodian of woman, and for visitor washing face/face will growing agelessly.

ARAK – ARAK NATURAL CSENERY
This tourist object is located on the road between Surabaya and Bondowoso, actually at the sumber Canting Village – Wringin Subdistrict. It is on the height about  345 meters sbove sea level. The tourist can see charming natural panorama. Tourist can visit this object using public transportation (Bus, Minibus).
TASNAN NATURAL BATHING PARK

It si located at Taman village-Grujugan subdistrct, approximately 7 Km south of Bondowoso, near to the town center.
This bsthing tour has comfortable and safety swimming pool for visitor and we can reach there easily by using the public transportation which has been checked its condition before. This place is eguipped with the playing park and another facilities are available, with: shelter, dress room, small mosque, podium entertainment amusement and place garden rest.

FLOWER OF LELLY AND EDELWEISS
Flower of lely grows and axpands ini agro tourism PTP Nusantara XII Garden of Kalisat Jaampit District of Sempol and Garden Attempt of Puslit Andungsari District of Pakem. This place also there are home stay, vegetable, flowerbed, carpet crops copy Arabika following Kibbling process coffee. Tourist also able buy flower of lely, flower product of lely also marketing to Surabaya and Bali, while edelwis flower can be found almost as long as way to Ijen crater from camping ground of Ijen crater. It is about 17 Km from PPTN XII Kalisat Jampit Agrotourism or 20 minutes by motor vehicle.

THE TRADITIONAL ART OF SINGO ULUNG
Singi is name of person who came from Blambangan. Singo Ulung and this wife Nyi Moena and the other person.
Like Ki Jasiman were helping and cooperating each other to creator the make prosperous life of societ at the firstchieftain of village. He created an art “Singo Ulung” which was played by to people. So that is was resembles the true Singo (Lion) and accompanied by the music of gamelan, especially coming from Blimbing village – Klabang subdistrict. This art together with Pojian art, Ojung art are always showed at the traditional ceremony namely “Bersih Desa Blimbing” which is always held every year ( the month of Sya’ban / Ruwah) . besides in this memont, this art performance can be watched/enjoyed in the annual moment “ Hari Jadi Bondowoso” actually at 16 August.

THE ACIENT HERRITAGE SARCHO PAGUS (SARKAFAGAS)
Sarchopagus is a part of megaliticum. It is more well-know as keranda which made af stones or orther kinds of container, but it has the lid/cover as well. Its functionis the same with “stone grave / dolmen” which is used for burying, sarchopagus located at several subdistrict for example one of it ar Glinseran village – Wringin sabdistrict, approximately 19 Km west of the town center Bondowoso. Bondowoso – Wringin : 16 Km (public transporatation). Wringin – location : 2 Km by ojek (kind of public transportation).

GERBONG MAUT MONUMENT

On 23 Nopember 1947, the history noted by using the gold ink about the heroic strunggle of Bondowoso people against the dutch occupations.
One hundred people was carried by using the railway carriages coach from the train station Surabaya at 3 a.m. the incident was know as immortalized as Gerbong Maut Monument that located the centre of Bondowoso, and becomes one of the historical objectof Bondowoso.

BRASS INDUSTRY
The handicrafts of brass (kuningan) located at Cindogo _ Tapen sudistrict, approximately 16 Km east of Bondowoso – Situbondo. There are many kinds of them, i.e: the house properties, the equipment for the costum ceremony are colorfull (like Bokor And Gayung) and various kind of souvenirs. These items have the beautiful color and easy to out. It has been distributed exported until foreigs countries.

TOUR BENDI

Tour Bendi is traditional vehicle using a horse. If yoy visit to Town of Bondowoso, it is not yet complete presumably if not yet gone up bendi having interesting and unique from location of strategic in Alun-alun Bondowoso city, visitor can go up bendi circle town Alun-alun of Bondowoso at the same time enjoyed existing view.

THE SWORD KNIFE
There are all short of knife and sword are produced constantly in good quality. These iron wates are produced at Pucang Anom village – Tamanan subdistrict and many entrepreneurs who order and sell them in the other cities.

TAPE (SWEET FOOD MADE FROM SLIGHTLY FERMENTED CASSAVAS)
AS we know that Bondowoso is well know/famous as the city of the Tape (kota Tape). Tape Bondowoso has special sweet taste and can not be imitated by the other town. There are many label/merk industries of Tape at Bondowoso, namely: Tape MAnis at Wringin village; Tape manalagi at RE. Martadinata street; Tape 31 and 82 at PB Sudirman street; and the last Tape 17 and Tape 94 at Diponegoro street; we can use it as the parcel from Bondowoso. Its modified into several kind, for example dodol and Suwar-suwir. The main ingredient of them is fermented cassavas.

KLOMPEN INDUSTRI
Klompen (mindi wood traditional slipper) is produced constanly appropriate of the orders. Actually, the home industries of them located at Jambe Anom village – Tamanan subdistrict, about 15 Km southern of Bondowoso.

EMBORDERY HANDICRAFT
The most embroidery handicraft (kerajinan border) is produced at Curahdami subdistrict, approximantely  4 Km from Bondowoso. Various clothes are produced here, appropriate the demand of consumer. The product has been sold to Malaysia and Singapura.

SUMBERSARI HANDMADE BATIK
The traditional handmade batik from Bondowoso regency, the know as Cassava Batik, for the recent years has Been managed well, so that it can be compete with orther batik in Indonesia, it has distinctive featuares that make different with others, that is caharasterized by cassavaa matif which is the ia lies at Maesan Subdistrict, about 13 from Bondowoso to the mest.

BEADS HANDICRAFT
Many kind of handicraft just like necklace, ring, briefcase, belt, and many other which is made of shells are produced at Cermme Subdistrict, about 32 km north east of Bondowoso city. The quite, varicolored, shape, and size, become a special attraction for visitor to be owned, or as souvenirs for families and friends.

LEATHER HANDICRAFT
The centra of leather handicraft is situated at Pujer Subdistrict, about 12 km southward of Bondowoso city. The products are jacket, bags or purse, belt, wallet, and more various motif and models, size and color. The development in creating depends on taste of the customer. All of products are made of cow hide as the main material. The products quality didn’t need to be doubt, and the is achievable. Usually, the product are sold in a specialty store in around Bondowoso and Bali.

SILVER HANDICRAFT
Silver handicraft in Bondowoso Regency may be called as a very young effort. But, it doesn’t mean that it has not a good quality and large market. The products such as bracelet, necklace, and ring are not only marketed in around Bondowoso, East Java, or Indonesia, but, also has been able to reach the international market, like Holland, Germany, and Amerika. This fine handicraft are produced by people from Jati Tambang Village, Wringin Subdistrict, about 16 K west of Bondowoso city.

“KETEBUNG” FURNITURE
This furniture handicraft is quite different with other furniture, which is usually used wood or rattan as the main materials, but it is not. It is by banana leaves, so that it is called by “ketebung” Furniture. As well as other furniture,. It also produces into kinds of shape and size. The motif of each furniture also give an art value that combine with exclusive natural banana leaves color, being glossily polished, will definitely give a luxurious nuance. The centre of “Ketebung” Furniture industry is located at Karang Melok Village, Tamanan subdistrict, it is about 15 Km from Bondowoso to the south.

PATIRANA ROCK CLIMBING
Avery day who loves wall climbing or rock climbing should come to Bondowoso to try Patirana rock climbing track, this place is suitable for a new challenge for climbing it is suitable for a new challenge for climbing it is situated at Patirana village – Grujugan subdistrict,  7 Km from Bondowoso to the about. The challenge climbing track with its various rock angle ot 90 sloping and also its  75 M height, become agreat place for climbers, beginner or professionals. Student or student of university of nature lovers use Patirana as their camping ground while trying the Patirana’s Challenge. Some facilities offer are shelter, bath room, and parking area.

BOSAMBA RAFTING
One of tourist attraction include ini special interast tour is rafting developing by Bondowoso is situated in the Taman Krocok subdistrict, about 6 Km to east side of Bus. The beautiful Panoramas which are passed as long as the rafting adventure make this is not only want to be enjoy by publik of Bondowoso, but also the other rafting lovers from other area. The location is easly accessible for it lies close to the inter city province main road and of course transportation are available there.
